I learned to cook when I was just a young guy fiddling around in my mothers kitchen.
As I got older, I became more adventurous in what I was cooking and some of it was good, some of it made it to the garbage can in record time. We wound up as partners in a truck stop and if the pumps weren’t busy and the restaurant was, I would go flip burgers, cook steaks or do what ever needed doing. I paid attention and learned a lot about cooking. I had a stint of work in logging camps and learned more. I left my home in North West BC and set out on my own.
I found other people that liked to cook and found I had a knack for it. That meant I was normally the cook for the crew and always tried to come up with something good. Some of us started trading our recipes and that was how this site was born. It was a collection of bits of paper and some old notebooks that were wearing out.
I received permission from the contributors to post the following recipes as long as I didn’t charge anything
